Here's what I want you to know...
I believe that there is power in being with the transitions that happen everyday instead of ignoring them.
I believe we deserve to be supported and witnessed in the messy, grueling and weird in-between phases of life.
I believe our bodies can be the catalyst for being more aware and honoring the seasons that we're in.
I believe that we deserve to listen to our bodies, and each other, instead of trying to keep up in a world that glorifies hustling, urgency and disconnection.
I believe we can connect to our bodies, each other and the Earth on a deeper level to embody the lives we want and create ripples of sustainable change in our communities.

Mindful Transitions is a 6 week series committed to helping you use your body as it is, the rhythms of nature and your everyday routines to practice deeper presence, awareness and connection in whatever phase of life you're in.
We live in a culture built on urgency, disconnection and moving quickly. Keeping up with white supremacy and capitalism make it incredibly hard for us to tune in, pause and connect. We're valued by what we produce instead of our wellbeing and the connections to each other. We also live in a culture that holds certain bodies and brains above others and asks us to change who we are.
Mindful Transitions is here to support you in tuning into your body and brain, without changing anything, and harnessing your everyday routines for greater care, connection, intention and embodiment. Together we'll use somatic awareness, mindfulness, gentle movement, reflection, connection and simple art making practices to tune into ourselves.
When we are more present and aware of our own bodies and needs we're able to be more compassionate with ourselves, even during those really messy times in our lives. We're able to be more compassionate in relation to others, animals and the Earth. We're more equipped to create and advocate for spaces that are more inclusive, gentle and kind for all beings.

Meet Your Guide
I’m Caitlin Doherty (she/her) - a small-fat cis-gender neurodivergent Mindful Movement Witch. I'm a Scorpio and seasons, cycles, and astrology greatly influence my work. I help people who have been left out of traditional wellness spaces, and folks who want to do things differently, learn to connect with their bodies again and bring more of what they want into their lives on their terms.
I lead group and one-on-one Mindful Movement for Misfits sessions for you to gently move your body, connect to yourself and others, and practice care on your terms, just as you are. Because you don't have to "fix" anything to care for you and self care shouldn't make you feel worse.
I have completed a 200 hour yoga teacher certification program, Accessible Yoga training, Intro to Somatic Experiencing training, and am currently enrolled in a somatic based course, Embodying Racial Justice. I am also trained in lived experience which informs a lot of my work too. I am committed to learning, listening, messing up, repairing and learning some more, and creating spaces that are kinder, gentler, trauma informed, more inclusive and less violent for all beings.

What if instead of moving with urgency through your tasks you were able to center into your body between them and move forward with more presence?
What if instead of ignoring the transition between Winter and Spring, Summer and Autumn, you cultivated practices for noticing the subtleties of the in-between phases?
You deserve to pause and listen to your body. You deserve to revel in the transitions and changes instead of ignoring them. You deserve deep care and connection with yourself and others as you move through this life.
